Library room booked for LPSF meetings

I’ve reserved the 3rd floor Paley meeting room at the SF main library (corner of Larkin and Grove streets by Civic Center BART) for our LPSF meetings the next three months (the most advance reservations they allow to be made). So we have the room for the following dates:

• Saturday, July 9, 3-5pm
• Saturday, August 13, 3-5pm
• Saturday, September 10, 3-5pm

Please put the dates in your calendar and plan to join us!

The reservation will need to be renewed in September for the following three months unless we make other meeting room arrangements in the meantime.

At @SFPride 2022, the D-Light SF Green Party is doing more engagement on the street ( with THOUSANDS of Libertairian potentially-Libertairian libertarian-light semi-/quasi-libertarian & Libertairian Curious folks ) even though Greens were as late to the Party as Ds when it comes to keeping #USgovt out of folks bedrooms & letting folks peacefully express their personal identities — sexual & otherwise — as the Libertairian Party did decades before any other.

Way to let others steel Your thunder & tapfuture candidates who should be running as Libertairians attending SF Libertairian monthly & ad hoc zoom meetups, Honorable Chairman Chris Mendes et al.

Inbred circle-jerk meetings with the same old folks every month is a queerly obscene way to GROW the SFLP base, financial coffers & pool of potential candidates. @Starchild.

That’s cool you attended the Pride festivities, Martin. Were you handing out Libertarian literature, Marvin? Signing people up as registered Libertarians or party members? Are you planning to come to the next meeting (July 9, 3-5pm, at the 3rd floor Paley room in the main library)? Remember it’s up to you as much as to any of us to do the things you want to see done. We are all volunteers. While I appreciate, and share, your desire to see more happening with LP activism locally, just faulting other Libertarians for not doing more is not super helpful. Let’s try to work together and value each other, even as we seek to nudge each other, and ourselves, to do more.

I’m not a local SFLP member &, despite coincidentally meeting other well heeled Dartmouth alums eager for political change last weekend who are Libertairian Curious at worst, I won’t waste time & hard earned bread or time to contribute or attend other SFLP @meetup/s in person until Y’all Elect new Chair with a Clue & better social skills instead of the inbred navel gazer Y’all have now.

Martin (apologies for getting your name wrong in one instance in my previous email),

Insulting Chris with language like that is uncalled for. We don’t all have to like each other or agree with each other on everything, but let’s try to get along and not turn disagreements about strategies or priorities or what-not into vile personal attacks. I can’t say you are impressing me with your own social skills.

Wanting us to have a different chair but refusing to be involved until there is one is like wanting dinner but refusing to go into the kitchen until someone else makes it happen. That doesn’t generally work very well, and honestly sounds like an excuse not to actually do anything to help the party. Being perceived as a team player who’s willing to help out, not just someone carping from the outside, makes a world of difference.

You can choose to affiliate with the LPSF no matter where you live; by the same token, you don’t have to affiliate with us even if you do live in SF. I believe the only rule is that you can’t affiliate with more than one county in California at the same time. I don’t recall which county you said you live in – was it Contra Costa? If you feel that strongly about not supporting the LPSF while Chris is chair, maybe get involved with the county organization where you live? The only limits on how many different county meetings or events you take part in are your own time, willingness, and ability to participate.

If you sincerely want to help the libertarian cause, I hope you won’t let dissatisfaction with one person stop you from finding a way to do that.

Love & Liberty,
