Library community meeting room request

To whom it may concern,

I recently called the main library to ask, in part, about reserving a community meeting room there, now that the facility is (finally) open again. The librarian I spoke with was friendly, but didn’t have the requested information and suggested I email info@sfpl.org. After doing so, I got a brief anonymous email reply, referring me to this webpage:

https://sfpl.org/services/meeting-rooms

Upon visiting the page, I see that it reads, “We are not accepting online reservations for meeting rooms at this time. If you would like to use one of the Main Library’s meeting rooms please see a staff member or contact publicaffairs@sfpl.org”.

I am emailing you accordingly, to request the use of the 3rd, 4th, or 1st floor community meeting room, for Saturday, August 14, from 3-6pm, for the monthly public meeting of our community organization. If possible, I would also like to reserve the same space for the second Saturday of each consecutive following month, for as many months out as allowed (I believe the policy has been to allow reservations for up to six months in advance).

Thank you for your attention to this request, and I look forward to hearing back. Please include your name and contact info, along with the text of this email, in your reply, for ease of following the thread of the conversation and knowing with whom I’m communicating so as to be able to follow up if needed.

Hello,

I’m glad that the main library is finally open again. Hopefully the branches will be soon as well. As long as the public is forced to pay for public libraries, people deserve to get value for their money.

Are the community rooms at the main library reopened yet? If so, I’d like to make a reservation; if not, when are they scheduled to be open again?

Thank you for your reply and for this information, although I’m sorry to hear it. “Check back in the Fall” is pretty vague though. What exactly are the current plans for restoring public access to these rooms? Who makes that decision? Could I have their name(s) and contact info please?
