Liberty And Art: How And Why Libertarians Have Failed

Mike,
Thanks for bringing this subject to the forum. Even if as usual, the intellectual quality we can find in the media is not up to our standards. Mr. Rosenberg has demonstrated this once again.
Politics is art. And what we have is mostly bad art. When the occasional artist is fluent in this medium, the results are extraordinary. Unfortunately, didacticism has demeaned the medium with vapid, banal and mediocre terms.
Like him or not, Willie Brown is an artist. I got to see his work in action, when he was Speaker. We all saw how he landed Pac Bell park, like a glass of champagne in a white glove.
So is Jerry Brown. The race for governor showed what an artist can do to a clumsy hack, like Whitman. Even outspending Brown's 36 million by 141 million, she painted a whopping 177 million of bad art on the political canvas. People still wouldn't buy it...it stank.
Ronald Reagan was an artist. Not only a public performer, but also a master of the deal. Lesser players, including Gorbachev, were robots in comparison.
