"Libertarian" is a fairly recent term, which describes the oldest aspiration of mankind: TO LIVE FREE. Libertarianism means living your life the way you want to live it, while also letting others live their lives as they want. In essense, it means we all mind our own business. It means that we keep the fruits of our own labor. It means that no one is allowed to initiate force or fraud, and that people are allowed to defend themselves against those who DO initiate force or fraud. Libertarianism means a government that is limited to the protection of life, liberty and property. Government uses force in everything that they do, and the only moral use of force is defense. Our Founding Fathers were libertarians, but that was before the word "libertarian" existed.
