Language in November Initiative Vote

Marcy,

There are two separate issues here: (1) Precisely what was decided at the last meeting, and (2) What to put on next month's agenda, are two different issues.

On the former, I raised the question of whether people understood what they were voting on because there seem to be different impressions about what was voted, and the language used (e.g. "pursue," "get the ball rolling") was and remains ambiguous.

As for next month's meeting, I suggested in a recent message that we look at goals and strategy related to getting an initiative or initiatives on the ballot, and from there decide which measure or measures to go with. You may consider this as a formal request to include such an item in next month's agenda, if such a request is what you are prompting me for.

Yours in liberty,

Starchild,

I am confused as to where you are going with these questions. Is
there any specific proposal you would like to make? If there is,
please make it; or if you like, ask for your specific proposal to be
placed on next meeting's agenda.

I am aware that you were not present at the last LPSF meeting, and
are perhaps trying to determine what transpired regarding the
discussion on the proposed initiatives. As a rule, those not present
at meetings rely on the minutes of that meeting for what transpired.
I suggest you read the minutes when they are available, and then take
whatever action you feel you need to take based on them.

Marcy

Starchild,

I will be happy to place on next month's agenda 10 minutes on goals
to be achieved with an initiative, as you requested. Also on the
agenda for the membership's consideration will be the tax initiative
(s) the Initiative Committee has been working on, as Ron Getty had
previously requested.

As to your attempting to determine what was said or understood at the
meeting, I repeat, read the meeting minutes when they become
available.
