On Sunday I attended a monthly community event in Berkeley, sponsored by the Berkeley Cannabis Buyers Club, Black Panther Party Alumni Legacy Network, and maybe other groups, that featured speakers, free food, and free cannabis, attended by over 100 people, at the Chapel of the Flowers, 3049 Adeline Street in Berkeley, just across the street from Ashby BART:

Hearing one of the speakers talk about the importance of voting, but recognizing that the constituency might not welcome a pitch specifically for the Libertarian Party (I estimate the crowd of 100+ as probably 75% or more African-American and mostly left-leaning) , I decided to offer to give a presentation on jury nullification at their next month’s event, happening Sunday Sept. 20, and this was accepted. I was told I’ll have 10 minutes. If it goes well, I will try to schedule a future appearance to talk about the Non-Aggression Principle, and maybe then about the LP.
For September’s talk, I’d like to have some jury rights fliers to hand out. Although this Friday’s hearing on the “Top Two” law in California that we’d planned to attend has been cancelled by the judge, I’m sure there will be other opportunities to distribute them, and therefore would like the LPSF to order some. The Fully Informed Jury Association offers several for sale, listed here:
The website lists their rack cards ($.15 each in orders of 1000) as being out of stock, but they have several full-color tri-fold brochures listed at $.18 each in orders of 1000 (including shipping), which seems reasonable. Given the timing (our next monthly meeting is not until September 13), I propose the LPSF officers vote to appropriate $180 to order 1,000 copies of this brochure:

For Brendan, Richard, and Trip, please let me know if you vote to approve this, or if you or any others have any other thoughts or suggestions. And for anyone who’d like to attend, put it on your calendar. I will create a Meetup event.
Love & Liberty,
