I revised Brendan’s draft postcard again with what was “breaking news” for me this Holy Thursday morning ( since I’ve been busy focussed on our “libertarian” #EarthDay Protest this Saturday — taking individual responsibility for Environmental challenges, bodily autonomy, etc ) & haven’t been paying much attention to National or local SF politrix. But I’m surprised that RETIRING 85yo US CA-D11 Rep Nancy Pelosi hasn’t been a top topic of discussion in the last few months, since she has announced another woeful ( Biden-esque ) 2026 re-election bid despite the highly-financed CIVIL WAR brewing in the @DNC thanks to our greatest unintended ally ever: 25yo @DNC Vice Chair David Hogg who has his gunsights & millions of campaign funds so far aimed at cleaning The House & sending old bags out to pasture! [ Music to my ears! ]
My friend, former tenant & housemate & colleague, Tom Williams captured the shot of 85yo Pelosi — & D-Minorty Leader Hakeem Jeffries who has also been aiming, in the highest internal innermost circles, at changing the old guard just as US NY Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, a former Speaker Pelosi challenger, has been doing a jawdropping US$10Million+ national XC fundraising campaign that will also intentionally help shuffle the @HouseDemocrats “house of cards.” Additionally, local “maga”/“maha” influence from former RFKjr running mate, & fellow grad from my alma mater Saint Mary’s College HS prep school across the Bay in Berkeley, San Franciscan Nicole Ann Shanahan ( born 26 Sept 1985 ) will also surely have an effect on this high-profile 2026 race. Such innate, endogenous & exogenous destabilization will give the LPSF unprecedented opportunity to capitalize on this chaos to promote & advance Libertarian Solutions & ideally a successor for 85yo Pelosi.
So, the postcard should at least capture a bit of this current energy.
