Erika McDonald of the local Green Party contacted me to ask whether we're running anyone against Nancy Pelosi in 2014. She said Barry Hermanson will be the Green Party's candidate again. I told her as always it depends upon finding someone who wants to run and represent our ideas.
This article from the DailyKos last month speculates that Pelosi could lose her seat if she has a Democrat opponent in the general election, and gives several reasons for this -- http://www.dailykos.com/story/2013/06/24/1218554/-Why-Nancy-Pelosi-could-lose-re-election-in-her-home-district-in-2014 .
It will be interesting to see whether there is a Democrat primary challenger. If so, perhaps we might try to work with him or her in attacking Pelosi on her voting record and anti-democratic behavior. But of course we'll need a candidate. I'm generally more interested in local races, but open to considering it. Anyone have other ideas?
