Thank you for weighing in, Letitia. Transparency in governance ought to be a no-brainer for libertarians, but since it remains controversial with some in our movement, words of wisdom from experience like you voice here can't be heard too often.

To be somewhat more exact, secrecy is a tool of cronies - and powermongers and apparatchiks. Since what they are doing usually is self-serving for themselves and inimical to members and the cause on some level, they can't let others know what they are up to.
