Hi All,
Join the Libertarian Party of S.F (only $25) in 2016, join the national LP in 2016, (also only $25). With Gary Jonson, and yes John McAfee, in the Presidential Libertarian race, 2016 promises to be really, really interesting!

This just in from the Libertarian National Committee list... (for those who may be unfamiliar, OAI is Gary Johnson's group Our America Initiative). I am very disappointed that Gary would take such an anti-freedom position and hope he will reconsider, although I suppose the silver lining is that it could give a more libertarian candidate or candidates a better shot at the LP nomination.
Aside from the obvious religious freedom issue, another reason this is such a bad idea is that the freedom to go masked in public is an important one that needs to be upheld. The growing capabilities and increasing use of facial recognition software, tied with ever more ubiquitous surveillance cameras, mean that governments will increasingly be in a position to track us everywhere we go (even when not carrying cellphones with GPS tracking turned on, or other tracking devices like FastTrak cards or RFID chips).

Starchild, I agree that calling for a ban on the Burqa is a bad way for
Gary Johnson to start his campaign especially since nobody wears a full
burqa in the USA or even in Pakistan. I only see it in Afghanistan.
By the way here is the picture of my first wife.
Wouldn't it be nice if the Libertarian Party would nominate a Presidential Candidate who was actually consistently...um...LIBERTARIAN...on all major issues, rather than "libertarian-ish" on some issues, and unlibertarian on others?

Sigh.... A little while ago I posted a similar sentiment on Facebook, where folks were distressed about Libertarian candidates who would fix the economy with massive "public works projects," allegedly ban attires, or consider the non-aggression principle unproductive. Oh, well. No such thing as perfection in this world. People who want to influence the presidential nomination ought to attend the state convention in Los Angeles in April and become delegates to the national convention in Orlando at the end of May. Richard Winger 415-922-9779 PO Box 470296, San Francisco Ca 94147
Good practical advice as always from you, Richard.

Yes, this is one of the cases where Woody Allen's saying that 90% of life is just showing up may apply.
There actually is a candidate for the LP's presidential nomination who appears to be about as libertarian as a candidate could get, and at this point I'm planning to vote for him. I would encourage others to consider doing likewise:
I met Darryl Perry at the Free State Project's PorcFest a few years ago, and he seems like the real deal. I've heard there's another candidate named Steve Kerbel who is also very good on the issues, but don't know as much about him.

I like Darryl Perry very much. He is the only Libertarian in either Iowa or New Hampshire this season to actually go out and ask the question of major party presidential candidates (who campaign in New Hampshire and Iowa so much that anyone who lives there can talk to them). "The question" is "if you are the nominee, will you agree to debate in the general election campaign with other presidential candidates who are on the ballot in enough states to win." I just wish we had more people in New Hampshire (or Iowa) like him. Darryl lives in New Hampshire. He has also got good ballot access bills introduced in the NH legislature (although they haven't passed).
Darryl got John Kasich and George Pataki on camera, answering that question. Once Iowa is over with, all the major party candidates will be in New Hampshire and he will probably goet some more of them on film answering that. Kasich said maybe and Pataki said no. Just sent Darryl a bitcoin donation.

Can someone explain what it does to the conditions, when Darryl Perry runs for president of the US?
