I will find out how early in the process you can turn in a volunteer Elector form and let you know. If you have friends in your area, we want Letters to the Editor sent to let voters know Ron Paul votes will be counted.

Hi Gail:
I will I all likelihood be voting for Gary Johnson but would certainly like to help Ron Paul with respect to the Republican Party. I will be out of the country from the middle of Sept through the end of October but if there is something I can do now I’d be happy to help. Let me know.

I did this in 2008 because so many voters were telling me they intended to vote for Ron Paul and when I said his name would not be on the ballot, they said they would write it in. This year there is a much better Libertarian candidate for me to be loyal to the LP.
However, a friend called to say Let’s get counting the Write In votes started now so when the Republicans meet in Tampa, we will know any Write In votes for Ron Paul will be counted in CA.
I sent this message out on Aug 6, 2012. I have names from 6 people who will help and 2 who said ‘Not this time. Time to convert these guys to the LP.’
If you are a Ron Paul supporter who will not vote for Romney, then you might consider helping getting his votes counted in CA. The process begins in Oct with a mid Oct deadline. This does not affect your vote at all so you don’t have to write in Ron Paul’s name. Just fill out and send in the form provided by the Sec of State’s office.
The person prodding me would like to see one Elector from each of thee 59 CA Counties so letters to the Editor can let voters know their Write In voter will be counted. With no publicity at all, Ron Paul and I got 17.006 votes. It could be better with longer term planning.
let me know if you are interested and sign your email with you name as you are registered to vote and your county of residence.

I agree with Marcy. Ron Paul is wonderful, and I don't regret a moment of my work on his campaign, but I can't see what's to be accomplished here with a few write-in votes. Better those votes should go to Gary Johnson--and I still hope Dr. Paul endorses him. Right after the Republican Convention, the Ron Paul signs in my front window go down and Gary Johnson goes up.
