Hi Bruce,
It's been so busy here I've not been able to be much involved in the
issues surrounding Denver. However I have to say Barr and Root appear to
be good sales people for the LP and they seem to be getting better and
better about communicating the LP vision in a way that doesn't
disenfranchise hard core LPers but also potentially attracts outside
interest. Barr has demonstrated his ability to change especially with
his comments on how the Outright Libertarians educated him on gay
marriage. Our local LPSF and Outright chair deserves lots of credit for
this effort to engage Barr on the issue and succeed. Good for them. And
isn't that what politics is all about.
It is true the Barr / Root ticket is controversial to many. But even
some of our most anarchic local LPSF members who may not be enthusiastic
about the ticket, say it is acceptable.
No ticket will ever be perfect. But this ticket is worthy of our
support. The time for arguing about the ticket and the events of Denver
is over. Now is the time to come together and make this ticket the best
it can be for our values and goals. I like hard core anarchic
Libertarians and identify with them. But there's nothing like real good
salespeople in any endeavor. It seems Barr and Root won the sales person
battle fair and square....with kudos to Kubby, Phillies and Ruwart for
successfully working their LP issues. Thanks to all of them for being
involved and trying so hard.
Now...on to the election arm in arm. Let's make this a good campaign
for the party.
Best regards Bruce....thanks for being so involved in the process. Much
appreciated.
