FW: Teach ! Preach ! Danse ! Sing ! SF Human &Civil Rights Revival fest !

I can probably get us time on stage if someone wants to go. It would be a terrific place to announce our Police initiative. I'll be at the LPC convention and cannot attend. The Greens and Answer are there so we could have our chance to speak to the socialists. Who's got game?

Hey Mike,

Yeah, I wish this wasn't happening that same weekend! I agree it would be a great place to announce the initiative. I actually did give it a brief mention when I called in to KALW the other day however. They were having a panel discussion on problems in the Bayview, and Misha was on the panel along with Rev. Amos Brown, filmmaker Kevin Epps, and another guy I'm not familiar with. I identified myself as being with the LPSF, echoed the concerns about the SFPD being out of control, and said we were going to be promoting a ballot measure to refocus police priorities toward violent crime.

I think that shifting more police activity into foot patrols (aka community policing) rather than "drive-bys" might be a good thing to add to our initiative. I heard concerns about this reflected in the show, as well as in the brave and hard-hitting piece by h. brown that you posted recently, and there seems to be a widespread view that the police ought to spend more time walking around and getting to know people in the community.

So who isn't going to the convention who'd be willing to speak at this event and represent us? Chris Maden perhaps?

Yours in liberty,
