FW: Alameda Co. NRA MC Spring Fun Shoot!

The

NRA MEMBERS' COUNCIL OF ALAMEDA COUNTY

will host its

2008 SPRING FUN SHOOT

on

Sunday, March 30, at 11:00 a.m.

at the San Leandro Davis Street Range

Everyone is invited!

We're holding our first 2008 Fun Shoot at 11:00 a.m. on Sunday, March 30, at
the San Leandro Rifle and Pistol Range (directions follow below).

Come and join us for a fun time shooting, and bring your non-shooting
friends!

Why? Our Fun Shoots have two basic objectives. The first, of course, is to
get our MC members together to socialize while engaging in one of our
favorite pastimes. The second is much more important. It's to introduce
newcomers to our sport. Therefore:

Bring your non-shooting friends! You're all urged to invite your family,
friends, neighbors, co-workers, spouses and significant others to join us.
Especially your spouses and significant others! The biggest gripe we hear
from women is that their husbands and boyfriends don't invite them shooting!

Plan to share! THIS IS IMPORTANT! You're also urged to bring plenty of
guns and ammo to share with all the novice shooters that we host!

Training! We will hold the usual short safety and training class for novice
shooters prior to moving them to the firing line. Also, several of our NRA
Certified firearm instructor members will be on hand.

Discount! We've negotiated a discount for our Fun Shoot participants.
Participants' cost is $10.00 instead of the normal $12.00. When you check
in, be sure to mention that you're with the MC Fun Shoot to ensure that you
get the discount. (Senior citizens over 60 only pay $8.00, so if you
qualify, be sure to mention it.)

Food: The range will provide a barbecue lunch for a minimal cost. It will
feature freshly-cooked hamburgers, chips, soda and cookies.

Note: If you're planning to sample Chef Sprague's culinary delights (he
makes a killer hamburger!), please RSVP to this email or call me at (510)
614-0572. We're trying to get a head count to make sure we have enough
food.

Important caveats: Both handguns and rifles are fine. However, it is
important to note that the range DOES NOT ALLOW RIFLE full metal jacket
(FMJ), aka "ball," ammunition. Ball IS FINE FOR HANDGUNS. Also, while
handgun .357 and .44 magnum loads are fine at the outdoor range, they are
not allowed in the indoor range.

Minors under 12 are not allowed to shoot. Minors 12 to 16 can shoot rifles
if accompanied by an adult and those 16 to 21 can also shoot handguns if
accompanied by a parent, grandparent, legal guardian or, for those over 18,
an adult with a parent's permission.

Range fees are each individual's responsibility. The range is open from
9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., and we can shoot as long as we want to.
