Commissioners,
I believe there is strong evidence from news reports that mayor Ed Lee committed perjury during his testimony to the Ethics Commission on the Ross Mirkarimi case, and also that a person or persons in his administration may have, either independently or in collaboration with the mayor, caused that hearing to be interrupted by falsely reporting a bomb threat at City Hall*.
Since mayor Lee was testifying at this hearing in pursuit of his agenda to remove another city official (the sheriff) from his position for wrongdoing, I believe it is proper and appropriate that the laws be upheld with regard to the mayor himself. Therefore I urge you to hold hearings and subpoena testimony on both of these matters at the earliest possible opportunity.
I realize that one of you is a mayoral appointee (http://www.sfethics.org/ethics/2009/05/about-the-commission.html). The commissioner who serves in this status should therefore recuse him or herself on voting whether to hold Lee accountable, since the fact that you serve at his pleasure represents a clear conflict of interest.
Your replies to the above requests are cordially requested.
