I am also a transplanted Texan resident, so David Rhodes' recalling how it was back there, personal actions to ensure personal wellbeing, struck a cord. Standing barefoot on the dirty carpet, going through "security" at airports does not strike me as a personal action to ensure my wellbeing. I would rather work, within our political system, toward a more rational foreign policy. So, I always refuse to take off my shoes and cause a mess everytime I travel, and I vote Libertarian. I would love to see our LPSF candidates communicate the mantra of personal responsibility to the public at large.
