Hi All! A Happy New Year to all! Time to get active again after the holidays and eating all the things the Nanny State says we shouldn't be eating! As expected, SB1 is back for sure this time. A few revisions were made in the fall before the bill was shelved, and now the Senate has to vote on it again before it goes to the Governor. I'm not so sure that calls in to the members of the Senate (as suggested below) will accomplish that much as this is an extremely partisan issue with virtually all the Democrats voting for SB1 and all the Republicans voting against it. I think a more useful act, at this point, is to mail letters to the Governor opposing the bill. It will hit his desk and he did sack redevelopment, and though he's hardly a libertarian, we might do better with him.
Please help to send letters to the Governor urging him to veto SB1. The statists will never give up, but we can give them a good run for the money (our money, not theirs).
Thanks!
Aubrey
