Constituency Based Marketing/From EBLP

Hi All,

I have "lifted" one more file from our friends at the EBLP discussion
group. Thank you to Rich Newell for posting the document.

I have placed the subject of marketing the LP on next meeting's
agenda, as Michael Edelstein suggested, and thought it might be
interesting if as many of us as possible read this LPCA document.
The paper is in the Files section of the Activist List; it is a pdf
file.

For those who cannot open pdf files, here is a very brief summary of
the paper:

1. Before developing a strategy, know who you are, know why you
exist, know who you serve.

2. You serve a core costituency, which needs to be better defined.

3. Criteria for defining a core constituency: mirrors who we are,
it is well liked and respected, it is large enough to be meaningful,
it does not already have a champion in the political arena, it has a
vested interest in our success, it brings credibility to the LP,
brings a base level of support.

4. Example of an effective constituency: the small business owner.
