This afternoon I heard a piece on NPR about a Republican congressman who was advocating civil unions for all and making "marriage" a purely religious ceremony with no legal attachments. I was surprised to hear a Rep. pushing for this. If more Reps support it, then I will have to gladly admit that this idea (advocated by, IIRC, Mike Denny and Starchild) was not political impractically I thought it was.
Cheers,

Dear David;
All is not well in Republican Land. The article is about Senate Republicans starting a series of hearings to promote traditional marriage. Senate Democrats have already called the hearings an election year ploy. Seems there may be a split between the Republicans???
