What really needs to be done is open up the rental market competition by doing away with rent control then modifying the planning commission approvals to allow more rental units to be built in sacrosant areas in high volume corridors. This would be SRO's - 2 room and three room and 4 room buildings. This could be a ground floor 12 unit sro's for elderly and handicapped a second floor of 8-2 room units a third floor of 6-3 room units and a 4th flr of 4 - 4 room units total units of 30 with room on the ground floor for a mini deli convenience grocery with coffee service.
