James E. Mitchell and Bruce Jessen, two psychologists who collaborated in helping the CIA torture non-convicted detainees held in secret prisons, were upset that their names were made public. Now a lawsuit on behalf of three of their victims (one of whom died of the torture) raises the hope they may face some accountability for their actions. Good news for civilized people who believe torturers should face justice!
Cross your fingers and hope that district court judge Justin Quackenbush has more respect for human rights and the rule of law than his fellow members of the judiciary who have dismissed on procedural grounds all previous cases seeking to hold individuals responsible for U.S. government torture and abuses in the "War on Terror".
