Candidates for Sheriff

I know we voted not to recommend either of the candidates but does anyone want to suggest why one should vote for one or the other. I feel completely in the dark on this one.

I will probably vote NOTA.

Incumbent Sheriff Hennessey has done a moderately professional job of
incarcerating people arrested by the police, transporting them about, and
not breaking or damaging too many of them. Also, City Hall hasn't blown up
with his diligent staff searching visitors to our halls of government. He
is a professional politician, and he is pretty good at his profession.

His opponent is currently a deputy in the sheriff's department, and had
difficulty figuring out how to reply to the e-mail I sent him. He is, in
his words, not very good with computers and stuff.

That is about as much as I know about the candidates.
