When you say "Starchild is welcome to implement your suggestion",
it's not exactly clear what you mean. We don't have a Candidate
Recommendation Committee, do we? If people want to create one and
appoint me to head it, fine. Then I guess whoever shows up to
committee meetings (i.e. candidate interviews) can vote on the
recommendations that will be issued by the committee. I think it's too
late to organize for this election cycle, unfortunately.

Yes, I agree it is too late to organize for this election cycle. What I was addressing was your earlier comment that you were unhappy that LPSF does not have a method in place to interview candidates, or a "Recommendation Committee." So I was suggesting that you try to implement such a method/committee yourself, if you really would like to see it in place.
Otherwise, the idea of having candidates (and other luminaries) as guests at our regular meetings when the opportunity arises, such as today, would be a good alternative. I believe this approach is more doable, given our scarce people power.
