The American Legislative Exchange Council (ALEC) released its annual economic rankings of all U.S. states, called Rich States, Poor States, for 2013. Unsurprisingly, California ranked almost dead last at 47th for their economic outlook. The top personal income tax rate is the highest in the nation, and the tax structure is also the most progressive. As a result, more than 1.5 million people have fled California since 2002.

IRS Replaces Head of Division that Targeted Conservative Groups
Lois Lerner, the head of the IRS office under fire for improperly targeting conservative groups, was replaced by the agency's acting commissioner on Thursday, a day after she insisted she had done nothing wrong and refused to answer questions before a congressional committee. Barbara Boxer take note -- “Anyone who claims more tornadoes are caused by global warming is either misinformed, pandering, or delusional,” Dr. Roy Spencer, climatologist and U.S. Science Team leader for the Advanced Microwave Scanning Radiometer on NASA’s Aqua satellite.
