[ca-liberty] RE: God Bless America

Well, while I'm not surprised to see Mr. Holtz presenting his perennial impassioned defense of the GOP (and once again copying my correspondence to groups that I don't participate in), the actual story can be found here:

http://www.infowars.com/articles/ps/giuliani_reporter_arrested_on_orders_of_giuliani_press_sec.htm

Pay particular attention to the links referring to the ambiguity between who was and was not a "police" officer, the manhandling reported that was *not* in the video clip, and the curious notion that an individual who is a credentialed member of the press at an "open to the press" event could suddenly be arrested for "trespassing."

While I'm sure the Giuliani campaign is grateful for Mr. Holtz's impassioned defense of their methods, I'll leave it to readers themselves to decide whether or not Giuliani's actions represent a troubling trend further extended by the players in the Florida case.

Cheers,

Brian

Does anyone know what has happened in this story since June?

Like I said: "regularly scheduled fog of disinformation".

I despise the GOP's pandering to the religious right and its empty lip
service to free markets. I regularly vilify the GOP for its tolerance of
laws regulating prices, minimum wages, maximum hours, equal pay, plant
closure, family leave, hiring, firing, occupational licensure, insurance
policies, zoning, rents, product safety, drug efficacy, fuel efficiency,
pollution mitigation technology, parental media control, media copying
technology, etc. I berate the GOP for its failure to use its legislative
majority to start privatizing any of our socialized systems of education,
health care, health insurance, agriculture, and retirement savings. I
bitterly attack the GOP for its support of regulations and bans on gambling,
suicide, substance use, pornography, gay marriage, sexual services,
reproductive services, and cloning.

I archive all my idea-related public correspondence to marketliberal, and I
always quote my correspondents accurately and in context. I'm sorry if
doing so with your words causes you some kind of distress.

Please quote whatever it is you think you're talking about. There is no
text on that page indicating that the one allegation of "physical assault"
on Lepacek, by "Infowars reporter" Luke Rudkowski, is anything but a
tendentious description of what we saw on the video: Lepacek being
physically removed from the premises. There isn't a single word on the page
about what you said was "private security at the event who claimed to be
'police'". Nor, of course, is there any evidence for the accuracy of your
claim that Giuliani "flexed his muscles by demanding (and receiving) the
arrest". Nothing you've said here makes a single statement of mine false or
inaccurate. Too bad the reverse is not true.

More disinformation. What happened was disgraceful. I'm just correcting
the record, and trying to train Libertarians not to play fast and loose with
the facts. There are 113 California libertarians on ca-liberty. If they go
around claiming Rudy Giuliani did things he didn't in fact do, then that
undermines the credibility of libertarian complaints against nanny staters
like Giuliani. I don't need to make stuff up about Republicans to criticize
them. The stuff they brag about is bad enough for me. I would hope the
same would be true for you, but I'm not going to make up my own facts on
that question.
