bus to Atlanta?

Another benefit to going to the convention by chartered bus would be
allowing delegates to avoid the internal government document checks and
security fascism that are rampant at the airports these days. John
Gilmoure, who gave an excellent talk at the LPC convention, said he
hasn't traveled by air for a few years because of this situation.

Richard,

I agree that long distance bus travel can be rather unpleasant.
However there is a good alternative to the conventional bus, which I
have suggested to Gail: The Green Tortoise. They have specially
retrofitted buses that allow people to lie down and sleep in comfort at
night. I've traveled by Green Tortoise and found it very pleasant:

I once went by bus from San Francisco to Des Moines,
Iowa and back. I resolved never to do a 3-day bus
trip again. Although bus seats are roomier than
airplane seats, sitting up all night seemed pretty
miserable to me. Also air fares are pretty cheap
these days.

If enough Californians are interested we

might be able to set up a

chartered bus to get us there or back or both

depending on the

flexibility of our personal schedules.
