I concur with the sentiments of Tennessee LP Chair Tony Wall, below. Will the principled Bill Redpath please stand up? Lee Wrights is correct in vociferously objecting to this Machiavellian move against him, and to assert that the Libertarian National Committee must hold a vote to remove one of its members; the Secretary cannot simply tell people, "Oh, by the way, your dues are late, so now you're off the committee and if you want your seat back, you have to reapply and be voted in again." It's as plain as day that Libertarian Party members never intended for people to be involuntarily removed from the party leadership on account of inadvertently being a few days late with a dues payment, a situation of which they -- in an apparent deviation from standard procedure -- received no electronic notification. Secretary Bob Sullentrup is way out of line on this. I think he is being disingenuous by pretending he believes that Lee "made this decision after considerable thought and reflection" in order to rationalize the attempted power grab, as his evident desire to purge another radical from the committee is in keeping with his past pattern of voting. I hope that Sullentrup was acting alone, and that this move was not coordinated with other on the LNC unconcerned about damaging their reputations for integrity and their legitimacy in the eyes of the members. Fair-minded members of the LNC will not stand for this kind of fast one being pulled against one of their number. I urge you to act immediately, individually and as a body, to repudiate the Secretary's brazen action and state that it has no legal validity.
