Thanks, Thomas. I've forwarded to some other lists. The phrase you point out is a bit baffling. What do you think the motive would be for deliberately not reading a particular individual their Miranda rights?

There are so many exceptions to Miranda that it is now meaningless. It is
only used on TV shows.
