Good news! The Young Americans for Liberty chapter at UC Berkeley, which had apparently quietly disintegrated, has reorganized and is up and running again.
Two of their members came to our last Libertarian Party of San Francisco meeting, and I subsequently went to their third meeting on campus, which turned out to be a spirited discussion of the Non-Aggression Principle between half a dozen of us and one dissenting student who showed up.
At my encouragement, one of the group's new leaders, Alexandra Tran, has created an email list which non-student libertarians can also join. (The goal is to cross-pollinate between the on-campus and off-campus libertarian communities for mutual support and sustainability, the latter being a perennial issue with student groups, which tend to cycle through periods of activity and morbidity as active group members graduate and depart.)
You can find the group page for the new email list online at https://groups.google.com/forum/#!aboutgroup/calyal . If you can't figure out how to sign up via Google Groups, email Alex at <alexandratran@berkeley.edu <mailto:alexandratran@berkeley.edu>> and ask to join. The address to use to post emails to the list (only group members can post) is calyal@googlegroups.com <mailto:calyal@googlegroups.com>. It looks like there are already 20 members, which is pretty excellent! Join us and let's talk about what we can do in terms of libertarian activism and organizing at UC Berkeley!
