Ben Carson – Utter Fraud or Messenger of God

Ben Carson – Utter Fraud or Messenger of God

In his book, “Gifted Hands The Ben Carson Story” he states on pages 64-65:

“At the end of the Twelfth Grade, I marched at the head of the Memorial Day
parade. I felt so proud my chest busting ribbons of every kind. To make it
more wonderful, we had important visitors that day. Two soldiers who had
won the Congressional Medal of Honor in Vietnam were present. More exciting
to me General William Westmoreland (very prominent in the Vietnam War)
attended with an impressive entourage. Afterward , Sgt. Hunt introduced me
to General Westmoreland, and I had dinner with him and the Congressional
Medal winners. Later I was offered a full scholarship to West Point.”

This puts this event at exactly Memorial Day 1969 where Ben Carson says he
had dinner with General Westmoreland and two Congressional Medal of Honor
Winners.

He has repeated this statement in two other books, “You have a Brain a
Teens Guide to Thinking Big” and “Take the Risk: Learning to Identify,
Choose, and Live with Acceptable Risk”.

He has repeated this statement on the Charlie Rose Show in September and in
innumerable paid speeches over the years.

Problem is, it is not true. General Westmoreland was never in Detroit at
that time or at any time during this period. It must be understood that
meeting with General Westmoreland was a big deal. General Westmoreland was
the Commander in Chief of the US Forces during the War in Vietnam. General
Westmoreland was known for dropping napalm bombs on innocent villagers
during the War in Vietnam. Meeting General Westmoreland would not be
something one would normally be proud of.

Thus, the fact that Ben Carson keeps bringing up his meeting with
Westmoreland assuming it ever happened shows his approval for the War in
Vietnam.

Sam,

I'm surprised to see you treating this Ben Carson matter as a big deal after your supportive comments about Hilary Clinton. I mean, if lying about General Westmoreland makes him an "utter fraud", what does Clinton's serial lying about Whitewater, Benghazi, her emails, and assorted other stuff -- see e.g. http://louderwithcrowder.com/caught-top-5-hillary-clinton-lies/ -- say about her?

Starchild You and almost everybody else has got it backwards. Jim Jordan
over and over again repeats just a fragment of the statement by Hillary
Clinton. Mark Rubio does the same thing. They obviously do not know, have
not read or are trying to hide the complete statement. Here is the complete
statement. Now, read it and after reading it tell us what you find
objectionable about the statement:

Statement on the Attack in Benghazi

Press Statement
Hillary Rodham Clinton
Secretary of State
Washington, DC
September 11, 2012

I condemn in the strongest terms the attack on our mission in Benghazi
today. As we work to secure our personnel and facilities, we have confirmed
that one of our State Department officers was killed. We are heartbroken by
this terrible loss. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family and those
who have suffered in this attack.
This evening, I called Libyan President Magariaf to coordinate additional
support to protect Americans in Libya. President Magariaf expressed his
condemnation and condolences and pledged his government’s full cooperation.
Some have sought to justify this vicious behavior as a response to
inflammatory material posted on the Internet. The United States deplores
any intentional effort to denigrate the religious beliefs of others. Our
commitment to religious tolerance goes back to the very beginning of our
nation. But let me be clear: There is never any justification for violent
acts of this kind.
In light of the events of today, the United States government is working
with partner countries around the world to protect our personnel, our
missions, and American citizens worldwide.

Sam,

My understanding of the Benghazi incident is that Hilary Clinton knew it was a planned terrorist attack and said so privately, at the same time she was publicly implying it was just the result of a spontaneous outpouring of public anger over a video. The motive was to deflect criticism of her department, and the Obama administration, for intelligence failure and failure to provide greater security to the embassy, as the ambassador who was killed in the incident had fruitlessly requested. But that is just one of her many lies. The link I provided in my previous message mentioned a number of others.
