The War on Drugs destroys lives and the economy while accomplishing absolutely nothing, other than overflowing the prisons and forcing violent offenders onto the street. As a result, in California we spend more for our prisons than we do for our schools.

5K and Jefferson Mile

Both certified courses visit some of Golden Gate Park's best views. The mile is a flat, fast loop, while the scenic 5K course is relatively flat with a couple of easy hills and no repeats. Both courses are certified.

Tell your friends, corporate and church groups to take a stand for freedom, collect some pledges and walk and run with us. It is the least we can do for LEAP's courageous police officers. These cops are getting the job done. Our economic woes are causing the nation to rethink the failed War on Drugs and the policy of wasting money and lives by enforcing bad laws that have cost over $1.2 Trillion since Nixon started the War on Drugs. Go to LEAP.cc and view their Videos. Join LEAP, stand with these cops and get a miniature Gold LEAP Badge

You are all encouraged to come and bring a friend! There is a limit though. We are only allowed 50 participants. We encourage you to dress in colonial garb, if you can. We will have a Campaign for Liberty banner and other goodies.

A few rules:

1. We are not allowed to distribute literature and all signs have to be approved by the parade organizers, but a few strategically placed tea bags shouldn't break any rules.

2. We are only allowed 6 signs and they must be "positive" messages. Like "Support HR 1207 - Audit the Fed!" Not negative like: "Impeach Obama!"

For more information email or call Ricardo.

Hope to see you all there!

Subject: July 4th Tea Party Update

Bay Area Patriots will be marching in the Novato Parade, a fun, hometown parade that attracts 15,000-20,000 people!!

Details are in the “4thFlyer” attachment above.

Some updates regarding meeting place and time: The parade travels west on Grant Avenue, starting at Reichert. The parade line-up begins onSweetser Avenue, which runs parallel to Grant (1 block north). Park west ofRedwood Blvd. and enter the line-up from Redwood Blvd. and Vallejo. We are #164 in the line-up. Be there between 9:00 and 9:30 a.m. Look for a large contingent wearing red T-shirts.

(1) Wear a red T-shirt or purchase one at the parade for $15 to help us raise money to fund future events. You can see a picture of our T-shirt in the first attachment above. If you cannot attend the parade, but would like to purchase a T-shirt for future events or just to show support, email me directly at sallyzel@....

(2) We are asking for a voluntary $5 donation to defray parade expenses—if you can. This donation is not required to march, but would be greatly appreciated!

(3) If you bring a sign, keep it on message (parade rules do not allow for overtly political efforts). We have been approved for our message oflower taxes, limited gov't, controlled spending.

(4) Attached are some posters you can print and carry. For a fast, sturdy sign: Tape message to an empty shipping envelope (like the ones used by FedEx or UPS – but heck, why not use the USPS envelopes, since you paid for them!) and insert a ruler or wooden paint stick (free at Home Depot) as a handle. We’ll have extra tape.

(5) For a little fun, we’ll be introducing America’s Budget DefiCETTES!

(6) Contest: Join the GM (Government Motors) fleet. Bring your favorite wagon, bicycle, tricycle or pedal car and show us what the Government Motors car of the future will look like! Children and adults are encouraged to join the fleet. The winner of the best car entry will win a free T-shirt!

(7) We’ll also be giving away Bay Area Patriot Wrist Bands.

(8) Most important: Bring Your Family, a Sense of Humor and Your Deepest Pride in American Independence.
