Oh come on, John! Saying we ought to look at the records of politicians we seek to recall is not excusing the Nazis' persecution of the Jews!
Furthermore, the Nazis did not have what I would call a great record prior to their official persecutions of Jews. They were already a nationalist, socialist, racist organization prone to engaging in street violence of the sort you condemn mayor Liccardo for not taking a firm stance against.
