The Bay Area Civil Liberties Coalition, of which we are a part, is considering endorsing the Surveillance State Repeal Act (text attached). Any objections, or shall I vote the LPSF as being in favor?

Surveillance State Repeal Act 114th(1).pdf (54.7 KB)
Hi Starchild,
I read the proposal and looked at the Downsize DC comments on it. Downsize says it does not go far enough but it is overall "a good thing." https://downsizedc.org/etp/surveillance-state-repeal/
Holt is apparently a long-time opponent of surveillance, so this is not an afterthought on his part.
So, I am personally fine with a "yes" vote to endorse.
Tanks, Starchild.

I meant, "Thanks, Starchild"
See you tomorrow at Free Exchange. Can't wait to learn when all those robots we are building will say, "I am afraid, David. I am afraid, David."

Hi Marcy and Starchild. Yes, the LPSF should endorse this bill against busybody government.
Thanks!Aubrey
Thanks, Aubrey and Marcy -- glad you took the time to give it a read, that gives me more confidence in endorsing the measure, although it certainly sounds good on the face of it. Would one more officer (Les or Dan) weigh in to make it an official vote?

Hi Starchild,
This is my personal humble opinion: If you do not hear from the other two officers by tomorrow, go ahead and endorse on behalf of the LPSF. Your request has been on this list, so if any of our members did not want LPSF to endorse, they could have said so. Silence is tantamount to consent in this case.
