If Marcy is going to be there, I was thinking of bringing my laptop if we can take some time (maybe as an adjunct to the website report?) to do an actual hands-on quick refresher on how to post articles and images. I need to refamiliarize myself, and perhaps there are others who would also be interested in posting stuff to the website.
Hi Starchild. Getting more folks involved in posting articles on the website is definitely a worthy cause, since at present Marcy is writing almost 100% of all the articles. However, I can see a whole session that will run at least half an hour, and this month's agenda is jam-packed as is, so we'll have to do this another time. Will keep this item in mind for another meeting.

I suggest taking the moratorium resolution off the agenda, since it has already been voted down by the Board of Supervisors, and using that time. Twenty minutes might not provide time for an exhaustive look at the website, but it should be enough for a good start.
As you know, the moratorium is on the November ballot. We need to include it with the other items on the ballot.
Regarding the website tutorial, if Aubrey or anyone else wants to give a tutorial and Aubrey wants to place it on the agenda, that is just fine with me, but since I was not asked, I am not volunteering to do it. I do have an old memo that I can update and distribute that will give some basics. I will bring some copies to the meeting tomorrow.
Please you all remember that the LPSF website is not my website and I neither have nor want any claim to it. I am only volunteering to keep it up because no one else stepped up to the plate to actually do it. I would more than welcome others to learn how to contribute content to a Joomla website (as I had to), and even take over the website functions from me. However, as I have always done, I will be more than pleased to try to answer specific questions when someone is contributing content (as I at the beginning had Rob so kindly doing for me). But, as long as I am the website's administrator (or as long as no one volunteers to actually take over), I have to lay down some basic ground rules to prevent the site from blowing up accidentally with me having no expertise to fix it.

Hi Marcy and Starchild. I am currently working on a resolution for the LPSF opposing the Moratorium in the Mission and will present it tomorrow at the meeting. That's why it's on the agenda. Both the Republican and Democratic parties have come out against the moratorium, and there's no reason we shouldn't weigh in on the issue, since we're a political party too.
Since Marcy is the only one willing to do the actual work of keeping up a website--and it is work--she can run as tight a ship as she wants to, as far as I'm concerned. Our website is way superior to other local LP websites and our state LP website, so she must be doing something right.

Since you were not asked? I didn't realize a formal invitation was expected! We've often just raised ideas and suggestions and such informally on this list; I considered posting the idea here to be the "ask".
As to the "basic ground rules" bit, I was not trying to open a debate about who should be able to post. I doubt we fully agree on that, but it is another topic -- my agenda suggestion was aimed at helping ensure those who are allowed to post are familiar with how to do so, and thereby more encouraged to do so.
