[Note: Yahoo! Groups is being weird right now, so I couldn’t join the
statewide libertarian groups there, nor rejoin lpsf-discuss. Rob, could
you please forward this to Ted Brown and/or the other county officers?]
At <URL: http://www.freebase.com/ >, the community data Web site built
by my employer, I have created entries for all of the 2008 California
partisan elections, their primaries, and the candidates.
Some of those candidates already had a bit of information available from
Wikipedia, mostly the incumbents. However, the other candidates —
including all but two of the Libertarians — are ciphers. Help me fill
out the information for these candidates!
Unlike Wikipedia, we do not have a prohibition on people filling out
their own information or entering other information that they personally
know. We do require that the information be factually correct; abusive
contributors will be banned.
So drop by your favorite candidate. Create a brief article if there
isn’t already one. Tell us about his or her education, employment
history, previous government positions, hobbies, etc. Link the
candidate and campaign to Web sites, news articles, etc.
All the data entered into Freebase is open licensed; it can be freely
reused by anyone for any purpose, as long as credit is given. (The
flipside of that: please don’t contribute a copyrighted article or
picture.)
As an example of a person with a lot of information, look at my page,

. As an example of a page just waiting to be filled with information
take a look at Phil Berg, the Libertarian opponent to Nancy Pelosi:

You will need an account to contribute; please feel free to ask me any
questions by e-mail. I want to help Libertarians get a head-start on
using this resource.
