2004 Presidential Campaign /Other Libertarian News

I don't see the problem here. AFAICS, taxes are not incompatible

with a

minimal government. Or does being a Libertarian require one to be an
Anarchist? If so, perhaps the party should change it's name.

Hi Steve,

Being a libertarian does not require one to be an anarchist (even if
it did, this is no reason to change the name since "libertarian"
includes anarcho-libertarians).

You're correct, taxation is compatible with minimal govt. However,
libertarians do not believe in taxation, since it requires the
violation of individual rights. A libertarian minimal govt would be
funded through voluntary contribution.

Best, Michael

Does your statement apply to Libertarians as well as libertarians?
Would this mean that Harry Brown was not a Libertarian?

I'm not clear on the distinctions you're making, nor what Browne has
to do with it.
