"A tie vote in Smyrna's [TN] city election included one vote
accidentally cast by a poll worker as he demonstrated how to use the
county's new electronic voting machines, the county elections
administrator said. The vote, cast by poll worker Bob Swanner as he
showed how to use the new MicroVote machines, cannot be rescinded,
Elections Administrator Hooper Penuel said. 'The button was pushed by
mistake during the demonstration, and he (Swanner) has no
recollection as to which candidate received the vote,' Penuel said."
