Subject: Warped Tour Rundown
Here's the gist of what I'm thinking for Warped Tour:
There are 46 tour dates (see below, as of now, and we have a booth and two passes to each of them.
To the affiliates in the area of each date, the relevant organization (SFL or LP) sends a boilerplate with info about the tour generally, amended with specific info about each date and venue (historical attendance, demographics, etc). I'm in the process of compiling this research now, and I'll get it to the both of you when it's complete.
In my mind, the opportunity of the Tour is to reach out to an ideologically maleable and sympathetic demographic, teenagers (who are the bulk of the attendees), and brand the movement effectively with this group. If this tour allows us to make liberty "cool," as it were, to the concert-goers, we may foster both future membership and activism.
Unresolved issues (that I can think of) are:
-Signage and displays. Some affiliates possess the appropriate banners and signs, many do not.
-Merchandise. Water bottles, stickers, frisbees, shirts, etc bearing the LP logo are all an option for the affiliates to produce themselves, but the resources may not be available for their production.
-Attendance of more than 2 volunteers. For a major event, if the booth is well-trafficked, two people may not be enough. Affiliates may desire to purchase more tickets for extra volunteers. The money for this is not dropping from thin air.
Let me know if you have any questions or brilliant ideas.
