URGENT - Add LPSF as co-signer of shame on Feinstein letter

Any objection to me adding the Libertarian Party of San Francisco as a signatory to the open letter that Restore the Fourth and others are sending to Senator Dianne Feinstein? I didn't see anything in it that I anticipate any libertarians objecting to:

  Please let me know ASAP -- not sure whether this has changed, but at the RTF meeting we discussed *today* as being the deadline for organizations to sign on and be included among the initial sponsors, so I'd like to get back to Alice Townes tonight if possible (sorry for the short notice, but I just got the notice of the letter from her today). I made a few minor suggested changes which she thinks she can get incorporated (see correspondence below).

I have no objection to including LPSF as signatory.

I agree with your corrections, but my style book says that commas may or may not be used in a series between the last two items. (A, B and C) or (A, B, and C) are both considered to be correct. Personally I generally used the second of the two.

Your comment about Ignorance vs. Denial is most appropriate. She cannot possibly be ignorant of what is going on. I don't know her, but I rather think she finds the surveillance to acceptable rather than desirable.

This letter is being spearheaded by a group called Restore The Fourth which is working to defend the 4th Amendment and oppose NSA spying, etc. It is an open letter taking Feinstein to task for her bad NSA legislation and demanding she withdraw it and resign as chair of the Senate Intelligence Committee. I helped edit the letter, and don't believe there's anything in it that libertarians will tend to find objectionable:

  Beyond this immediate issue, Restore The Fourth is nationally organized and seems to be attracting libertarian-leaning activists. The SF Bay Area chapter I'm involved with (http://restorethefourthsf.com/leadership/) has quickly developed an impressive amount of engagement from young techie type folks. I encourage libertarians to get involved with them in your area if they are already active there, or consider starting a new chapter if they are not.

  Individuals will be able to sign onto the letter starting on December 15, when the letter is sent to Feinstein. We'll be holding a press conference that day in San Francisco at 1187 Franklin Street, 1015am which all are invited/encouraged to attend (I won't be attending myself due to LNC meeting rescheduled for next weekend). Thanks, guys. If one more officer approves (Aubrey, Denny?), we can LPSF signed on in the official, proper way. There's not quite the urgency I thought there might be, as Alice just clarified to me that groups will have until the 15th to sign on as coalition partners to be included in publicity when the letter is released on that date.

Hi Starchild! Yes, the LPSF should sign on to the letter. She is a total defender of government spying on its citizens, and she should be shamed.
