In response to recent reports of inappropriate spending of City funds by nonprofit agencies, I have called for a hearing to consider the audit plan for nonprofit agencies funded by the City. In fiscal 2003-2004, there were 664 nonprofits, which received a total of $611,473,073.62 in city funding for various programs and services.
