Dear Friends,
There are some very good events coming up soon! Here are some dates you might want to put on your calendar. These events are also listed on “Bay Area Events” on our website www.lpsf.org http://www.lpsf.org/
1. Rally for Recreation in the GGNRA (Golden Gate National Recreation Area)
Wednesday, March 4, 2015, 12:00 pm – 12:30 pm
Outside the Pacific West Regional Office of the National Park Service
333 Bush St (between Kearny and Montgomery), San Francisco, CA 94104
Website: www.SaveOurRecreation.com http://www.saveourrecreation.com/
Event Information: https://www.facebook.com/events/802726316476246
The National Park Service has just signed a general management plan that would restrict recreation and access to the GGNRA. We are concerned with the large amounts of land owned by the federal government in the western states, and how they can simply restrict recreation on land set aside for recreation.
2. Jim Elwood’s Free Exchange: Guest Speaker Starchild, LPSF Outreach Director.
Topic: “Libertarianism and the Singularity.”
Saturday, March 7, 2015, 7:00 pm – Midnight, Program: 8:00 pm – 9:00 pm

Starchild will discuss implications of the quest for transhumanism, which according to some futurists will lead in the not too distant future to a point in time when artificial intelligence will surpass human intelligence -- the singularity. How will this scenario affect freedom, libertarianism?
3. The Commonwealth Club: Guest Speaker David Boaz, EVP of the Cato Institute
Topic: “The Libertarian Mind”: A conversation on the growing libertarian political movement.
Tuesday, March 31, 2015, 6:30 pm
Lafayette Library, 3491 Mt. Diablo Blvd, Lafayette, CA
Website: http://www.commonwealthclub.org/
Event details: http://www.commonwealthclub.org/events/2015-03-31/david-boaz-libertarian-mind
From a libertarian perspective, the Commonwealth Club could be described as left-leaning. Therefore, when they give libertarianism a word in edgewise, we are very grateful; even if David Boaz and the Cato Institute are small-l libertarians.
Hope you can attend one or all of these events. If you like, let us know what you thought of events you did attend. You can email me at vicechair@lpsf.org mailto:vicechair@lpsf.org, or post something on the Libertarian Party of San Francisco Facebook page.
Kind regards,
Marcy Berry
