Thinking outside the box

Now some Libertarians say that because the Libertarian Party is a political party, we have to operate in a certain way, like the other political parties operate, doing the things that people expect political parties to do.

  Do we really? Is that always the best way to accomplish our goals?

  Do you mean what are the goals of *our* political party? I subscribe to what it says in the preamble to our national platform (http://www.lp.org/platform):

"In the following pages we have set forth our basic principles and enumerated various policy stands derived from those principles.

These specific policies are not our goal, however. Our goal is nothing more nor less than a world set free in our lifetime, and it is to this end that we take these stands."
