Politicians could really be a treasure trove for people sending these types of scam letters -- since they're always sending form letters and asking for money anyway, the story might seem more realistic to Christina's acquaintances than these stories usually do. 
  On the other hand, it would probably backfire over time in the form of more new laws and tougher criminal penalties against such scams.
