Dear Chris and All Others;

This bill was introduced and sent to House Committee on House Administration on Jan. 27, 2003. Since then it has got 5 co-sponsors over the last 1 1/2 years.One of the co-sponsors is Rep. Ron Paul. There are 435 members of Congress and a 2/3 majority in the House would mean having 290 votes for the Amendment. This means only getting 285 more members of the House to agree. Then you would still need some 67 US Senators to also agree. I can find no companion Senate bill to compliment the House bill.

You have a dead duck bill. And these people are beating a dead horse. And the proposed suggested recommended letter will do nothing to garner any additional sponsors. Sending a letter to a Congressman with the phrases: You guys are spending my money like drunken sailors and it needs to stop. Tax funding of political conventions is a giant scam.

Any use of public funds other than that necessary to protect my life and propertry is theft. But getting both houses of Congress to pass the enabling legislation is a major uphill battle. Any resources we have in time effort and energy can be better spent.

Also someone needs to tell the people behind the petition you catch more flies with sugar than vinegar.
