State bylaws issues

Speaking of bylaws, I was recently brushing up on my judicial
committee responsibilities as set forth in the LPC bylaws and noticed
this item:

Starchild,

1. If Jawj is not a registered Libertarian, she should be.

2. I forward all e-mails I receive as Chair from the CA LP to the
Activist List, including any summaries of meetings. That is all I am
volunteering to do for now; except if there is an especially
important issue, I will put it in our LPSF Agenda also (e.g. as I did
with the dues question).

noticed

this item:

-------------------------------------------
Bylaw 5: MEMBERSHIP

Section 1.
All Party candidates for public office, Executive Committee

members,

county party office holders, Libertarian National Committee
representatives and judicial committee members shall be registered

in

the Libertarian Party in California if eligible.
-------------------------------------------

This may be inconvenient, but it appears that Jawg is

required to be a

registered Libertarian in order to serve as LPSF Secretary (she
happened to mention to me at our meeting that she is currently not
registered with the LP).

I also noticed that the state party Secretary [currently Dan

Wiener,

email <wiener@a...>, phone (805) 526-0958] is required to email
summaries of Executive Committee meetings and votes to county

officers

within 10 days:

-------------------------------------------
Bylaw 11: EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE

Section 6.
The Secretary shall cause the minutes of each Executive Committee
meeting to appear on the Party website not more than 30 days after
adoption. A summary of the results of the Executive Committee

meetings,

votes, and mail ballots shall be emailed by the Secretary to all

county

officers within 10 days.
-------------------------------------------

Have you the officers (Marcy, Phil, Jawg, Mike Acree)

received any

such summaries? It would be nice to see such summaries posted

regularly

on the LPSF list so that we can be kept up to date on what's going

on

at the state level.

Yours in liberty,
