Some thoughts on Obamacare

As I've studied this issue, I'm reaching the conclusion that I can't
understand why anyone on the right -- or the left -- would want this
turkey! It offers no advantage to anyone -- except government
bureaucrats and some corporations. It will not cut the cost of health
care. It will not improve the quality of health care. It WILL clearly
reduce access to health care especially for the elderly.

I strongly urge you all to read the bill. HR 3200: America's
Affordable Health Choices Act of 2009. Summarized as: To provide
affordable, quality health care for all Americans and reduce the
growth in health care spending, and for other purposes.

Frankly, this is the most misleading summary title of any legislation
I've ever reviewed. To read the text of the bill you can visit this
URL linked from the official House web site:

If reading the whole bill is too tedious, I found this PDF from
Liberty Counsel, self described as "A nationwide public interest
religious civil liberties law firm."

Oddly, I could find no liberal, leftist, or even Marxist web site that
offered any significant analysis of the bill -- oh, there were
comments and remarks saying we really "need" the bill and even that
"it is a shame that the bill doesn't mandate a single payer system."
But there were no liberal/left sites that offered a careful and
complete analysis of the bill, at least in the first few pages of my
Google search. One left-leaning site claimed to answer "an email
[critical of the bill] making the rounds of the Internet" -- but the
author simply made blanket refutations of points made without
reference to actual language in the bill or by providing any
supporting facts. Not impressive.
