SF Board of Supervisors Contact Info

For those who may not have the names and contact info of the latest (as of November 2008) members of the San Francisco Board of Supervisors, here is a handy list that you may wish to save and print out.

"Many of our fellow citizens no longer have the tolerant souls and morals of free men and women. They have the souls and morals of busybodies and petty tyrants who want to run their neighbors' lives."
-Edward L. Hudgins (Cato Institute)

Unfortunately it's pretty much a given that members of the Board hear regularly from San Franciscans who fall into the busybody or petty tyrant categories. So please be sure they hear from those of us who love liberty too! In local politics especially, a few constituent calls and emails can make a real difference. Know which district you live in (you can find out by checking the map at http://www.sfgov.org/site/bdsupvrs_index.asp?id=4385) and when contacting the Supervisor for your district, be sure to let him/her know you live in the district (but don't hesitate to call up the other 10 as well).

If you program their numbers into your phone, it's easy to make a call or two while waiting for the bus, sitting in traffic, etc. Of course it's best if you can urge a vote for or against specific legislation when calling and bolster your position with some good facts, but it also helps even if you just call up and say "I want Supervisor ____ to introduce legislation to [pick one or more] decriminalize prostitution / lower parking taxes / tell the SFPD to stop cooperating with the DEA / urge Congress and the Obama administration to pass marriage equality legislation / uphold SF's sanctuary city status for immigrants / cut the salaries of officials making over $100,000 a year / end gun control / condemn the War on Drugs / etc."

“It does not take a majority to prevail... but rather an irate, tireless minority, keen on setting brushfires of freedom in the minds of men.”
-Samuel Adams (community organizer)

Lobby early, lobby often, and have fun!
