Seeking speaker against Prop. C

Hi All. Here's another one that just popped up. This one is going to be
challenging because the gun show is this Saturday, and we will be there.
I've never spoken before this group, as Marcy always took care of this one,
and she said they were always really nice to her (not hostile like some
groups). As an aside, I believe Melanie's daughter is or was the President
or Director of the Atlas Society, and she spoke before the Norcal Liberty
Summit held in Sacramento about 5 years ago. Let's figure out who can
present at this one.

Thanks!
Aubrey

Thanks Aubrey!

If no one else volunteers, I'll do it-- I would just miss the beginning
of the gun show.

Hi Mr. Freedman,

I am a member of the Older Women's League of San Francisco and we are
having our annual Sept. informational meeting soon in which we prepare
our members and the general public for the November Election. In this
meeting we invite speakers to briefly speak "for" or "against"
selected ballot measures. A Q & A period follows each set of
speakers. Presently we are seeking a speaker to briefly talk about SF
Prop. C (extra business tax on businesses making over a certain
amount).>
We have had speakers from your organization in the past and have
greatly enjoyed hearing what they have to say.>
Our upcoming meeting is this Saturday, Sept. 22 from 10 to noon at the
SF Public Library (Hispanic Room on lower level). Prop. C is last on
the program so the speaker would not have to be there until 10:30.>
Please let us know if you could send us a speaker. Sorry for the late
notice. Hope to hear from you soon.>
Many thank,

Melanie Grossman

I could do it. I don't think I can do the gun show that day anyway, but this is early enough it would be fine. I would welcome an opportunity to talk with the Older Women's League about the homelessness issue this weekend in particular, because it could be good material for discussing on a TV segment I may do next week on the issue. Marc Joffe put someone at NRATV in touch with me, and their host Colion Noir is coming to SF to do an episode on homelessness. According to his producer who invited me to be on, the host is originally from Nigeria, and wants to talk with actual people in different cities, not politicians (not his exact words, but that was the gist) and include different perspectives. It should be interesting.

I can also potentially go and talk with the West of Twin Peaks Central Council about Prop. A on Monday (thread about that copied below), unless Mike Denny or someone else wants to do it. A good point to make to those folks is how rebuilding the promenade along the bay (which is essentially what Prop. A is about) probably won't benefit that part of town at all, but paying "their share" of the up to $5 billion total cost of the project could cost them plenty. By contrast, the budget for the entire Central Subway project is reportedly under $1.6 billion (see https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Central_Subway)! I'm thinking maybe folks from the foggy side of the city might rather spend less money and have a couple new subway tunnels on the west side..

Love & Liberty,

Sorry....I am working.
