S.F. Pride Festival

Hi Brian,

Thank you for your efforts! And thank you to Francoise for bringing
the booth brochures (Francoise will be out of town during Pride
weekend). I will be happy to bring the brochures to the Outright
Booth location on Saturday morning, *if* I know by Friday 22 where
the booth will be; and whether volunteers will be there with tables
(I gave all the tables I had to Starchild), tent, Political Quiz, and
literature stands (I believe Chris Maden has the stands). Please let
me know if anyone from San Francisco carrying materials needs a ride
to the booth.

Brian, just a thought: I was reading the rules for political
activity on the Pride website, and thought about the information you
were giving to us at the last LPSF meeting regarding the LP
presidential candidates wanting to visit the Outright booth.
Personally, I would love to see them! However, being a stickler for
details, I wonder how much campaigning for office they can do, in
violation of both the Outright and the Pride non-profit rules. Maybe
some guidelines for booth volunteers?

I can staff the booth Saturday morning, and during the Parade on
Sunday.

Regards,

Marcy

Hi, folks:

I barely have the minimum number of safety monitors required for SF

Pride, and have a dearth of booth volunteers as well.

I need large groups of both in order to ensure a successful pride

outreach event!

If you've been thinking about participating, please send me your

information (including training session booked if you're going to be
a safety monitor) ASAP!

I've attached the safety monitor training site information again --

please let me know which you plan to attend.

Cheers,

Brian

Greetings folks,

A final list of trainings should be posted to the Web site this

week,

but I'm including the dates below for ease of access. Please note

that

the Safety trainings will be fashioned to include relevant

contingent

monitor training information, plus some additional Safety training,
which a number of contingent monitors have found invaluable in

other

situations outside of the parade.

OUT-OF-TOWNER'S TRAININGS:
There will likely be a Saturday, June 23rd training date set up for
out-of-town contingents, and of course, out-of-town contingent

monitors

arriving the morning of Parade Day will be able to attend a prompt

9:00

AM training on Sunday, June 24th, in front of 77 Beale Street. Do

not

wait to
the last moment or bank on sending local monitors to the
out-of-town trainings -- as if we reach full capacity or they are

late to the

trainings, you could miss out and risk your position in the parade.

CONTINGENT MONITOR TRAININGS:
Tuesday, June 12, 2007 8:30pm Head Over Heels, 1250 45th Street,
Emeryville, sponsored by Cheer SF

Except for Cheer SF, most of the above are followed by a one-hour
completion of the two-hour Safety

As for the confirmation packets, I'm still getting some critical
information from the office today, and anticipate sending it out by

Tuesday.

It will be distributed electronically to the contact person listed

on

the application, which will make it much easier for them to

redistribute

via email to your
members.

If you have not seen a confirmation packet by this coming Friday,

it

may be because your application is incomplete and/or unpaid. I

will be

calling those groups this week to help them finish up.

Sincerely,
Marsha H. Levine
