Rumors of my move have been mildly exaggerated.

Best wishes, Chris. I will pray for buckets of success for you, so
you will be happy...and stay in San Francisco.

As most of you know, I had planned to move to New Hampshire at the

end of

this summer.

However, consulting work started slowing down around the holidays,

and I

found myself wondering how I was going to be able to afford the

move.

Fortunately, April was an extremely serendipitous month. One

friend found

himself with an extra Muni FastPass, and another on a mailing list

put out

a request for people with exactly my professional expertise.

That opportunity moved quickly into a job, and I accepted an offer
yesterday afternoon. I start with Applied Minds on Tuesday. For a

taste

of this interesting company, check out <URL:
http://battellemedia.com/archives/000712.php >. I'm working for a

South of

Market office with a group that will be spun off soon.

This does mean that I'll have less free time for interesting things

during

the day, though it looks like I'll still be able to teach the after-

school

taekwon do program that I've been doing the last two years, and it

means

that my move will be postponed. However, it also means that I'll

have a

bit more operating capital, less debt, and insurance once again,

and when

it's time to move, I'll be able to actually afford to do so.
